Beth Marshal our District Governor came to visit us this month. She told us about the zone project:
FEED 10 MILLION As the world’s premier volunteer Service Organization, Rotary Zone 33/34 will focus on supporting and caring for our neighbors by feeding at least 10 Million meals during the Rotary year 2020-2021.
We presented her with a check for her Governor Projects, which include:
HANWASH which is an initiative to provide Hait with universal access to sustainable, safe, and reliable water and sanitation.
MIRA Foundation USA Inc which provides trained guide dogs, free of charge, to visually impaired children, ages 11 to 16
Dannielle Nebinski from the Northern Pennsylvania Regional College (NPRC) was our speaker today. Since we toured their Warren Headquarters last year, they have expanded from the 5th floor onto the 4th and are making plans for the 3rd floor.
They are servicing nine counties: Cameron, Crawford, Elk, Erie, Forest, McKean, Potter, Venango, and Warren.
Students are learning remotely through the Summer and Fall Semesters and hopefully will be back in classrooms in January of 2021. They offer six different degrees and recently added in an Applied Technology Associate Degree. They also offer Workforce Development Classes to help people progress in their careers.
