Gaughn’s Drug Store

Scott Newton from Gaughn’s Drug Store came to talk to the club about CBD products. He did lots of research before he decided to carry anything.

What are Cannabanoids?

Cannabinoids are the chemicals that give the cannabis plant its medical and recreational properties. Among the 113 cannabinoids produced, THC and CBD are the most prevalent and the most well-understood. Most strains of marijuana sold today are cultivated with higher levels of THC.

THC is known for its psychoactive properties and is the reason you feel “high” after ingesting marijuana.

CBD is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid and actually works to counteract the high. CBD also has numerous benefits, such as anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective properties.

Why is “full-spectrum” the best?

Cannabinoids, terpenes and other chemical compounds found in cannabis achieve limited success when working in isolation or as individual components. Research suggests that when these individual components of the cannabis plant support one another, therapeutic benefits are magnified. Together, they produce an effect that is greater than the sum of their parts. This phenomenon is known as the “entourage effect.” The entourage effect supports the idea that whole plant medicine is superior to pure extracts.

Gaughn’s Drug Store only offers CBD products that do 3rd parting testing for each lot. Otherwise you cannot be sure that you are getting it at effective levels.

Warren Tire Center

Corky and his wife Caroline from  came and spoke to us, earlier this month, about the process of rebuilding after the devastating fire they had over a year ago. They were so grateful for the response from the fire departments, hazmat crews and United Refinery for helping with the fire. No one was hurt and the house next door were not damaged.
It was a long processes to work through the insurance claims and luckily they had business interruption insurance which helped them keep their full-time employees paid and with healthcare insurance during this time.
They fought to use local contractors and could not be happier with how everything turned out. Celebrating 44 years in business. They now provide complete services from State Inspection to computer wheel alignments, oil changes and tires. They also ship UPS daily, rent Penske vans and trucks and do car wash and detailing.
